Where does my money go every month?
When a decent salary keeps disappearing, it's rarely one big bill. It's usually small, frequent payments (food delivery, coffee, rides, subscriptions) that never feel like spending. Add up last month by category and count how many payments were under 20 in your currency. That number is usually the answer.

The 15-minute method
- Get last month's transactions: your bank app, a statement, or your card app.
- Take out the fixed bills: rent, EMIs or loans, insurance, phone. What's left is the money you choose to spend.
- Group the rest into five buckets: food and delivery, shopping, transport, fun, everything else.
- Count the small ones. Payments under 20 (£, $, AED…) or under ₹500 add up faster than anything else.
- Pick one bucket and give it a daily limit, not a monthly one.
Why monthly budgets miss it
A monthly budget only tells you on the 30th. Small payments feel free one at a time, so you need a number you see every day. That's why "how much can I spend today" works better than "how much did I spend this month".
What to look for in an app
- Automatic: if you have to type every coffee, you won't
- Daily view: a number for today, not just a monthly chart
- Small payments counted: UPI, tap-to-pay and app payments all included
- Transfers left out: moving money between your own accounts isn't spending
Where Savyit fits
Savyit reads the payment alerts your bank already sends to your Android phone (bank-app notifications everywhere; bank SMS and UPI alerts in India), so there's nothing to type and no bank login. It sorts each spend into a category, so the "where did it go" answer is on the stats screen, and the home screen shows what's left to spend today.
What it can't do
- Android only. There's no iPhone version.
- It only sees what your bank tells you. Turn on alerts for every transaction in your bank's app.
- Cash isn't in any alert. Add it with quick entry or the widget.
- No bank sync and no CSV import. It starts from new alerts (in India it can also scan recent bank SMS).

Let your phone keep the receiptSavyit reads your bank's payment alerts on your Android phone and shows what's safe to spend today. No bank login, no account.

Why do I have no money at the end of the month?
Usually small, frequent spending: delivery, coffee, rides and subscriptions. Add up last month by category and count the payments under 20 in your currency.
How do I find out what I'm overspending on?
Take out fixed bills, group the rest into five categories, and look at which one grew. A tracker that reads your payment alerts does this automatically.
Is a monthly or daily budget better?
Daily. You see it in time to change what you do today.
