Savyit / Guides / Track all your UPI payments automatically

Track all your UPI payments automatically

Every UPI payment, whether from Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or your bank's app, triggers a debit SMS from your bank. An expense tracker that reads those SMS on your phone captures every UPI payment across all your bank accounts automatically, without your banking password.

Why UPI apps alone don't give you the full picture

  • Each UPI app shows only its own payments. If you use GPay and PhonePe, neither shows your total.
  • Card spends and auto-debits (EMIs, SIPs, bills) don't appear in UPI apps.
  • Your bank's SMS covers all of it, from every app, for every account.

Set it up

  1. Make sure SMS alerts are on for every bank account (they usually are by default).
  2. Give the tracker SMS access on your Android phone.
  3. Scan recent SMS to fill the last week or two, then let new payments arrive on their own.

Watch out for

  • Self-transfers between your own accounts aren't spending.
  • Small UPI payments (chai, auto, snacks) add up: check the count, not just the amount.

Where Savyit fits

Savyit reads the payment alerts your bank already sends to your Android phone (bank-app notifications everywhere; bank SMS and UPI alerts in India), so there's nothing to type and no bank login. It reads UPI and card debits from your bank SMS across accounts, leaves out transfers between your own accounts, and shows what's safe to spend today. It's in English, Hindi and Telugu.

What it can't do

  • Android only. There's no iPhone version.
  • It only sees what your bank tells you. Turn on alerts for every transaction in your bank's app.
  • Cash isn't in any alert. Add it with quick entry or the widget.
  • No bank sync and no CSV import. It starts from new alerts (in India it can also scan recent bank SMS).

Questions

What's the best app to track UPI expenses automatically?

One that reads your bank SMS, because every UPI payment triggers one. Savyit does this on Android without your bank login.

Can I track GPay and PhonePe together?

Yes. Your bank's SMS covers payments from every UPI app, so one SMS-reading tracker sees them all.

Is it safe to give an app SMS access?

Check that it processes SMS on your phone and doesn't upload them. Savyit reads bank SMS on the phone and never sends them to a server.

Does it work in Hindi or Telugu?

Yes. Savyit's app is available in English, Hindi and Telugu.
